Mission Statement

The Jacksonville Humane Society provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need while engaging the hearts, hands and minds of our community to bring about an end to the killing of abandoned and orphaned shelter animals.

Pet of the Week

Hi! I'm Mosey! I am spry as a puppy, even though I am a 6 year old Mom. I am an empty nester now, so I am ready to retire in a loving home. I love to play with people, other dogs, and toys especially if they make a noise when you squeeze them. Oh, and treats, I LOVE TREATS! Come to JHS and take me home. We will have so much fun together!

Strut Your Mutt

Best Friends Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt may just be the most fun you can have helping to save the lives of homeless dogs and cats in Jacksonville. The annual fundraising dog walk, fun run, and festival culminates in a day of fun for four- and two-legged participants of all ages. Best Friends Animal Society helps the Jacksonville Humane Society by supporting Kitten University and our Big Dog Medical Program.   Strut Your Mutt Jacksonville is Saturday, September 6.   Join the Jacksonville Humane Society Team here.
