The Campaign for a Compassionate Community

JHS New Animal Shelter Building Updates

In 2015, JHS launched the Campaign for the Compassionate Community to build a brand-new animal shelter. In 2007, a devastating fire destroyed the existing shelter. Since then, we have been operating out of temporary buildings. Our low-cost animal hospital was built in 2012 to provide quality veterinary care at affordable prices to members of the community. If we are able to stay true to the construction schedule, we will move into the new building in 2017 – the ten year anniversary of the fire.

The grand opening of the Jacksonville Humane Society Adoption, Education and Community Resource Center grand opening is November 10th and 11th, 2017. More details coming soon!
