Personal Pet Matching
Finding the perfect pet.
If you're ready to adopt a pet but not sure where to begin, then we have the perfect solution for you. It's called Meet Your Match™—a science-based adoptability program from the ASPCA®. By cross-referencing your needs and preferences with a database of existing pet personality profiles, this multi-dimensional matchmaking system identifies which pets you would be most compatible with so that you can find your picture-perfect match.
How it works.
- Upon intake at our facility, our adoption counselors carefully evaluate each (6-month or older) animal's behavior, friendliness, playfulness, energy level, motivation, people manners, interests and other distinct traits using the Meet Your Match™ Canine-ality™ (dogs) or Feline-ality™ (cats) Assessment. The assessments are scored and the pets are assigned one of nine color-coded personality profiles—which get displayed on the animal's kennel and online profile.
- When you're ready to begin the adoption process, you'll take a brief, one-page Adopter Survey. The survey is designed to help us understand your preferences, expectations and lifestyle in order to help you choose a compatible companion.
- Using Meet Your Match™ scoring criteria, an adoption counselor will evaluate your survey responses and calculate your color code.
- The adoption counselor will review the complete analysis with you, give you a color-coded Guest Pass, and then you're off to the kennel area to look for a match!
