You may remember Sallie. This sweet pup was transferred to us from our partners at Animal Care and Protective Services. When she was found as a stray, she was skinny, nervous, and covered in sores. She was heartworm positive. She was not versed in any doggy manners. She was, let’s say, a hot mess. Adopters were not lining up to take home a dog like Sallie.

After treating her major medical issues, ACPS asked us to take Sallie in hopes that a change of scenery would find her a home. We tried everything to find her a home. She went on three news stations, was featured on social media, and even had her own billboard! A year passed with still no home in sight. Until one day …
