Suddenly Contest Rules

Contest Rules - please read carefully before submitting your ad! 



  1. All photos must be uploaded to the FirstGiving Web site, e-mailed or mailed to the Jacksonville Humane Society by December 26, 2010.
  2. The contest officially ends December 26, 2010 at noon.
  3. For purposes of this contest, an “ad” is considered a photo and tagline.
  4. Submission is free.
  5. Contest winners are determined by the amount of money raised in support of their ad. The ad that raises the most money will win the grand prize, with the subsequent prizes going to the next highest fundraisers.
  6. Photos must contain at least one animal.
  7. Ad tagline must begin with the word “Suddenly” and must explain how the pet has changed the life of the person who submitted the picture.
  8. Digital photos must be at least 75dpi, but a high-resolution (300dpi) photo must be available for JHS’s use should the ad win the “Suddenly” contest.
  9. Ads will be posted to this Web site within one week of submission.
  10. Fundraising begins as soon as a photo is uploaded to the FirstGiving Web site. The earlier an ad is submitted, the earlier it can begin soliciting and receiving votes (in the form of donations). 
  11. No adjustments will be made to compensate for entries received later in the contest. 
  12. The Jacksonville Humane Society, Inc. reserves creative rights to alter or make changes to ads and taglines as necessary.
  13. Photos and ads become the property of the Jacksonville Humane Society, Inc. and may be used in
  14. additional Jacksonville Humane Society publications. 
  15. Polaroid, poor quality or copyrighted photos can not be accepted.
  16. The Jacksonville Humane Society reserves the right to disqualify ads from the contest if they are deemed inappropriate for publication. Inappropriate content in an ad can include, but is not limited to, profanity, indecency, obscenity or animal cruelty.
  17. Photos and ads can not be returned.
  18. The ad that raises the most money will win a gift certificate for a two-night stay at the West Palm Beach Marriott. Certificate expires Dec. 31, 2011. Expiration date may not be extended. Certificate has no cash value. Reproductions will not be accepted. All reservations subject to availability. Blackout dates apply. Certificate valid for one stay. Reservations may not be made more than 30 days in advance.
  19. Ad that raises the second highest amount of money wins (2) certificates for a one-night stay at your choice of one of the following: the Doubletree Hotel Savannah Historic District, the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Historic District, Springfield Suites Savannah Historic District, Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Midtown or Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah Midtown. Certificates expire June 16, 2011. Certificate valid for stay Sun- Thurs only. Subject to availability. Blackout dates apply. Certificate redeemable for goods and services and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  20. Ad that raises the third highest amount of money wins a certificate for three-nights in a one-bedroom cabin at Flamingo Lake RV Resort. Certificate expires Feb. 15, 2011. Certificate is not redeemable for cash and excludes holidays. No pets permitted in cabin during stay and $100 deposit is due at the time of reservation.
