At the Jacksonville Humane Society, each and every donation helps us care for the animals in our adoption facilities. We welcome and appreciate any monetary donation you can give.

Donation Funds

When you make a monetary donation to the Jacksonville Humane Society, you can specify how your donation will be used. Below are the names and descriptions of our current donation funds. To specify a particular fund, simply choose its name from the dropdown menu on the online donation form.

  • General Fund: Donations to this fund help us provide essential services for the animals at our facility, and help us provide programs and initiatives to the community.
  • Mend-a-Friend: Donations to this fund go directly towards helping animals who require "extra special care," such as medical treatment for heartworm disease, mange, parvovirus, fractured limbs and other life-threatening injuries.
  • Building Fund: Donations to this fund will help us rebuild from the April ‘07 fire that destroyed our facilities and claimed the lives of 86 animals. (Read more about the building fund here Life Changing.)

The Pawfessionals

The Pawfessionals is a pet-loving, young professionals group committed to supporting the educational and fundraising efforts of the Jacksonville Humane Society. We raise awareness to better the lives of companion animals through rewarding social and charitable experiences.

Learn more about young professionals supporting the Jacksonville Humane Society. Individuals must be between the ages of 21-40. Membership fees: $25 per individual and $40 per couple. Sign up online.


Optional Donation Designations

If you would like to make your donation in honor of someone special—or in memory of a pet, friend or family member who has passed away—you can do so on the online donation form and JHS will send a letter to the designated family member, friend or pet owner.


The Jacksonville Humane Society, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)3 status and receives no federal or state funding nor are we an agency of the United Way. We rely on donations, memberships, and bequests to operate our Adoption Center, and provide vital programs.
