If you want to contribute to The Jacksonville Humane Society, but need some ideas we are here to help! There are so many ways kids can help the furry faces at our adoption center. Whether you raise $5 or round up a pile of toys, your donation will make a big difference in the lives of our animals. The sky is the limit, but we’ve listed a few ideas to get you started!
Organize a Donation Drive
We are always in need of toys, treats and other supplies for our furry friends. They even have a Wish List! Many of our young supporters have organized a donation drive to collect items from the Wish List through their church, neighborhood, school or even birthday parties.
All of the food for our special pets is generously provided by Purina so an actual drive to gather food for us is not necessary; however there are many other things our furry friends need to stay happy and healthy. Please check our Wish List
for items our pets need the most!
Organize a Fundraiser
It is easy to organize an event to raise money. Many of our supporters young and old have had great success with many of the ideas listed below. Some students have even raised money by collecting donations from students and faculty to ‘earn’ a day to wear whatever they want to school! Get creative!

Online Fundraising Campaign
Are you computer savvy? Then, this could be a fun way to raise money for JHS. Through our online fundraising tool, Firstgiving.com, you can create a fundraising page with links to video, Facebook.com and more to email your friends and family. You create a message and set a fundraising goal – it’s easy and fun. You can even do this in combination with your fundraiser or donation drive – email your fundraising page as an invite to your birthday party or bake sale!
Collect gently used and new items at school, church or on your street to donate to our Thrift Store. The Thrift Store is an important source of income for The Jacksonville Humane Society. The money we collect from sales provides us with much needed funds to care for our animals. Click here
