lifechanging - the campaign for the Jacksonville Humane Society

From A Tragedy Has Come An Opportunity.

On April 7, 2007, fire claimed most of the Jacksonville Humane Society's facilities and more than half of the 166 animals we housed that day. Thanks to an outpouring of community support, we resumed the provision of our services from temporary buildings. As we looked toward rebuilding, we saw an even greater opportunity — to not only rebuild, but to begin a new era of outstanding leadership in the adoption of pets.

Other issues, such as underutilization of spaying and neutering and abandoning or relinquishing pets, are contributing to an animal population problem that is now a community crisis.

The time is right to implement a plan for the future and the Jacksonville Humane Society is leading the way. At the center of our plan is the $12 million, 45,000-square-foot Adoption and Multipurpose Building.

With your investment, we will find homes for thousands of loving animals.

With your investment, these pets will enrich more people and more homes in Northeast Florida than ever before.

With your investment, we will create a healthier community.

That’s life changing.
