FREE ADOPTIONS THIS WEEKEND

Free Animal Adoptions at Jacksonville Humane Society & Animal Care & Protective Services All Weekend Long

Jacksonville, Florida (July 7, 2017) The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) and Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) are offering free animal adoptions this weekend.

“This is the time of year when shelters get critically full, so we are asking our animal loving community for their help. We’ve waived adoption fees through Sunday so there has never been a better time to adopt your new best friend,” said Denise Deisler, Executive Director of JHS. “Our goal is to save these animal’s lives and find them loving homes.”

Local community partners are pitching in to help, too. Pet Paradise is boarding dogs from JHS to help make space and save lives until next weekend’s Mega Adoption event.  Even with this help and the Mega event next weekend, the situation is critical.

How you can help:

  • Adopt – Shelters are bursting at the seams with adoptable cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. Visit JHS or ACPS and adopt today. This weekend all adoptions are free. A $20 licensing fee may apply.
    1. The Jacksonville Humane Society Adoption Center will be open this weekend, Friday 12 am to 7 pm, Saturday & Sunday from 10am – 5pm. The Adoption Center is located at 8464 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville.
    2. Animal Care and Protective Services Adoption Center is open Friday & Saturday from 10am – 6pm. They are located at 2020 Forest Street, Jacksonville.

  • Foster – Foster homes are needed, especially for large dogs. Every animal that is in a foster home frees up a kennel, helping local agencies to save lives. To become a foster, email the JHS or ACPS Foster Office at: foster@jaxhumane.org; ACPS email: ACPSFosters@coj.net.
