Jacksonville Humane Society announces Giving Tuesday goal of $35,000 in one day

Jacksonville, FL (November 25, 2016) The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) is joining the millions of non-profit charities who participate in Giving Tuesday, a worldwide day of giving that takes place after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday is November 29, 2016.  JHS has announced their goal for this year: $35,000 in one day.

In 2015, JHS saw a surge in Giving Tuesday donations in response to our request, and $28.947.41 was raised for the animals. This year, JHS hopes to increase this amount and wants to let the community know just how much their donations mean to homeless pets at the people who love them. A $25 donation can cover the cost of vaccines for one pet, $50 can cover the cost of spay and neuter, while $100 can cover the cost of heartworm treatment in dogs. JHS takes in more than 5,000 animals each year and an extra boost at the end of the year would make a world of difference for pets and families in need.

“We are so fortunate to be located in such a giving and compassionate community,” said Denise Deisler, executive director of the Jacksonville Humane Society. “We are proud to provide support when pets and families need us, and we’re confident that Jacksonville will help us reach this goal!”

Those interested in helping can take the pledge to give on Giving Tuesday by going to jaxhumane.org/pledge or calling 904-493-4560. Donations can be sent via mail to 8464 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32216 or made online.
