Jacksonville Humane Society Earns Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator for Fourth Year in a Row

Jacksonville, FL (February 2, 2017) The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) has once again earned a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. According to a letter from Charity Navigator President and CEO, Michael Thatcher, only 10% of the charities Charity Navigator evaluates have received 4 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that JHS outperforms most other charities in America.

Charity Navigator is considered one of the foremost authorities on analyzing nonprofit’s financial health and transparency. Forbes, Business Week, and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine, among others, have profiled and celebrated Charity Navigator’s unique method of applying data-driven analysis to the charitable sector. They evaluate ten times more charities than their competitors and currently attract more visitors to their website than all other charity rating groups combined, thus making them the leading charity evaluator in America.

Ratings are on a 100-point scale and assess both financial performance and the transparency and accountability of an organization. JHS received 100/100 for accountability and transparency and 97.5/100 for financial performance with an overall combined score of 98.23.

“We are proud to have achieved a four-star rating again this year”, said Denise Deisler, JHS Executive Director. “We pride ourselves on our financial health and transparency and want every donor who invests in us to know that we are good and faithful stewards of their gifts.”
