JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Humane Society is awarding a wide variety of prizes to top fundraisers for the Trail of Tails: Pet Walk & Festival, including T-shirts, pedometers and digital photo frames.

“Fundraisers are the foundation of our Trail of Tails: Pet Walk & Festival,” said Leona Sheddan, executive director of JHS. “We want to reward people for raising money for homeless pets on the First Coast with exciting prizes like windbreakers and iPod nanos.”

JHS is hosting the first-ever Trail of Tails: Pet Walk & Festival on Feb. 28. Walkers can register at www.jaxhumane.org prior to the walk. Through www.firstgiving.com/jaxhumane, walkers can create sponsorship pages and invite friends to donate money for their walk.

The walk kicks off at 10 a.m. and will begin and end at Friendship Fountain Park. Entrance is $30 per person or $25 per person for people walking as part of a team.
