Receiving of Owned Animals
As of October 1, 2005, the Jacksonville Humane Society is a no-kill, limited admission organization. We will no longer kill one animal to make room for another. Our Animal Admissions office will accept owned animals by appointment only by calling (904)725-8766, ext. 222. For more info: e-mail us.
Once you have made your appointment, you will need to bring the following forms with you:
- What to Expect
- Owner Information
- Cat Background or Dog Background (per animal)
- Surrender Agreement
If you have found a stray animal or lost your pet, please call the city of Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Control to file a report at (904) 387-8932. For low or no cost spay and neuter programs, contact First Coast No More Homeless Pets at (904)425-0005 or visit their website at www.fcnmhp.org.
