Pets Who Need Foster Homes

The pets appearing on this page are in need of foster homes due to their young age, because they are recovering from an illness or injury, or because they could use a break from the shelter through our Staycation program. Click to tap on each animal’s photo to learn more about them.

All pets are sent to foster care on a first come, first served basis. Kittens will come with at least 1-2 littermates (unless designated as a single animal).

Underage Pets/Pets with Medical Needs:

  1. Optional: Submit your Foster Profile using the orange button above – this will help us get all of your information in advance.
  2. Stop by JHS during the Foster department’s open hours: Monday-Friday from 10:30am-6:00pm and Saturday-Sunday from 10:30am-5:00pm
  3. Use the entrance labelled “Pet Help Center” – this is now our Foster entrance.
  4. Our team will get your new foster pet ready for you and send you home with all the supplies you’ll need.

Staycation-Eligible Pets:

Shelter Staycations give adult pets a much-needed break from the shelter and help us learn all about their personalities. Staycations can last anywhere from 5-30 days depending on the needs of the pet. While hosting a pet for a Staycation, you can help them find a home by promoting them online and telling your friends and family all about them!

  1. Stop by JHS during the Adoption Center’s open hours: Monday-Friday from 12:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday-Sunday from 10:00am-5:00pm
  2. Let our Front Desk team members know you are looking to take a pet on a Staycation foster trip.
  3. Our team will get your new foster pet ready for you and send you home with all the supplies you’ll need.
