Mutt March Event Info

Location & Parking

How long is the walk?  The walk is 1 mile. We suggest humans wear shoes comfortable for concrete and grass. All dogs must be kept on leashes at all times.

Where is Mutt March? Mutt March is held at the Jacksonville Humane Society at 8464 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216.

Where can I park? Parking is available at 7534 Beach Blvd. A shuttle service will be available to take walkers and dogs to and from the event.


How to I register? You can register online by clicking here or in person at our administration offices, 8464 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32216.

When does registration close? Online registration closes at 5 p.m. the Thursday before the event.

Can I register at the event? Yes, you can register as an individual at the event for $30. Team registration is not available at the event.

I registered early. Do I have to check-in? If you registered early, you will still need to go to the registration table to check-in. You will receive your wag bag and if eligible, your t-shirt. Anyone who is eligible for VIP will receive their VIP ID at registration.

Can I pick up my wag bag and t-shirt early to skip the lines at registration? Yes, we recommend you pick them up from the administrative offices beginning Wednesday prior to the event. T-shirts are on a first come, first serve basis and size is not guaranteed. Our office is located at 8464 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32216. If you want to call and check on t-shirts before you come, please call 904.493.4565.

Where is registration? Registration is on the Jacksonville Human Society property; exact location TBA.

What’s the difference between a “team” and an “individual”? Teams must consist of at least 4 or more registrants. Each team member must pledge to raise at least $20 for Mutt March.

Do I need to register my dog, myself, or both? Only humans need to register. Dogs and kids under 5 are free.


How do I become an event VIP? VIP is available to anyone who registers prior to January 31st OR any registrants who raises more than $250.

What does VIP include? Event VIPs have access to a private VIP room, which includes a continental breakfast, mimosas, and treats for your pup.

Where is the VIP Room? VIP is located on the second floor in the multi-purpose room. Please enter through the main doors, follow the signs to VIP registration and take the elevator or stairs to the second level.


What are the hours? Mutt March is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Event schedule is as follows (and subject to change):

  • 9 a.m. Registration, Silent Auction, Kid Zone, and VIP Open
  • 9:15 a.m. Purina Pro Plan Performance Dog Team performs
  • 10:00 a.m. March Begins
  • 11:15 a.m. Purina Pro Plan Performance #2
  • 12:00 p.m. Silent Auction closes
  • 1:00 p.m. Event ends


Food, Beverage & Restroom

Is water provided? Water will be provided courtesy of our event sponsors. There will be water stations along the route.

Where are public restrooms located? The Jacksonville Humane Society has public restrooms inside the facility in the Adoptions Center located past the front desk, and to the right.

Are dog waste bags provided? We do our best to provide as many poop bags as possible but encourage you to bring your own. Please – scoop the poop!


How do I get a t-shirt? T-shirts are awarded to anyone who raises a total of $50 including your registration fee. So, if you paid $30 to register, you must raise or donate an additional $20 to receive a Mutt March t-shirt. Note: T-SHIRTS ARE GIVEN WHILE SUPPLIES LAST AND SIZES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. If you have your heart set on a size, we encourage you to pick up your shirt before Mutt March.

Emergencies and Safety

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will be on-site for the duration of Mutt March. For pet emergencies, we cannot guarantee that a veterinarian will be available to assist and recommend that any pet facing a life-threatening situation leave Mutt March and go directly to an emergency clinic.
