Mutt March Event Info

Location & Parking

How long is the walk? The walk is approximately 1.2 miles. We suggest humans wear shoes comfortable for concrete and grass. All dogs must be kept on leashes at all times. Waste stations are posted along the route and bags are available throughout the facility. There is a shorter walk path available.

Where is Mutt March? Mutt March will take place at the Jacksonville Humane Society at 8464 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32216.

Where can I park? Parking is available at the Walmart Supercenter located at 8808 Beach Blvd. This is just 0.6 miles away and there is a sidewalk from Walmart to the Jacksonville Humane Society to walk on. A dog-friendly shuttle service will also be available to take walkers and dogs to and from the event. A dog and walker drop-off zone will be available at 1813 Foster Drive until 10 a.m.

Fundraising/Payment & Donations

I have cash/check donations that were made to my Mutt March page. How do I credit them? Please bring the donations to JHS and give them to a staff/volunteer at registration.

Is there an ATM on site? No. We suggest that you bring cash with you. We have asked that all vendors have a credit card option but cannot require it. JHS can take credit cards for registration, retail purchases or donations.


How do I register? You can register online by clicking here or in person at our Administration offices, 8464 Beach Blvd., Jacksonvill,e FL 32216.

When does registration close? Online registration closes at 5 p.m. the Friday before the event.

Can I register at the event? Yes, you can register as an individual at the event for $30. Team registration is not available at the event.

I registered early. Do I have to check in? If you registered early, you will still need to go to the registration table to check in. You will receive your wag bag and, if eligible, your T-shirt. Anyone who is eligible for VIP will receive their VIP band at registration.

Can I pick up my wag bag and T-shirt early to skip the lines at registration? Yes, we recommend you pick them up from the JHS Administration offices on weekdays prior to the event starting Friday, April 3. T-shirts (with a new design!) and dog bandanas are available for purchase during registration, while supplies last. We encourage you to order during registration as we cannot guarantee sizes at the event. Our Administration offices are located on the second floor of our facility at 8464 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32216. If you want to call before you come, please call 904.493.4565.

Where is registration? Registration is on the Jacksonville Humane Society campus inside the Adoptions & Education Center.

What’s the difference between a “team” and an “individual”? Teams must consist of at least 4 or more registrants. Each team member must pledge to raise at least $20 for Mutt March.

Do I need to register my dog, myself, or both? Only humans need to register. Dogs and kids under 5 are free.


Can I look at the pets for adoption in the shelter? Yes, you are welcome to check out our dogs and cats waiting for homes, however, to help keep our JHS pets happy and healthy, we ask that dogs not enter the kennels or cat rooms. We will have a “pup parking” option if you need someone to hold your dog while you look. Please help us keep our JHS pets calm by not bringing dogs into areas with shelter pets.

What won’t I want to miss at the event? Make sure to check out our Silent Auction! With over 100 items for pets and people, you will want to place your bids and snag some great prizes. If you have not been to our building before you will get to see our beautiful facility! All your favorite local mascots will also be present along with the Roar of the Jaguars, face painting, food trucks and more than 50 vendors with lots of giveaways for you and your pups! We will even have a Purina Dog Show that will be performing twice during the event.


How do I become an event VIP? VIP tickets are available for purchase during registration, while supplies last.

What does VIP include? Event VIPs have access to a private VIP room, which includes a continental breakfast, mimosas, a coffee bar and treats for your pup.

Where is the VIP Room? The VIP Room is located on the second floor in the multipurpose room. Please enter through the main doors, follow the signs to VIP registration and take the elevator or stairs to the second level.


What are the hours? Mutt March is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Event schedule is as follows (and subject to change):

  • 9 a.m. Registration, Silent Auction, Kid Zone, VIP Room, and Vendors Open
  • 9:15 a.m. Purina Pro Plan Performance Dog Team performs
  • 10:00 a.m. March Begins
  • 11:15 a.m. Purina Pro Plan Performance #2
  • 12:00 p.m. Silent Auction closes
  • 1:00 p.m. Event ends

Food, Beverage & Restroom

Are there food/drink options? Yes, three food trucks will be on-site during the event. Water stations will be along the route and water is provided.

Where are public restrooms located? The Jacksonville Humane Society has public restrooms inside the facility in the Adoptions Center located past the front desk, and to the right.

Are dog waste bags provided? We do our best to provide as many poop bags as possible but encourage you to bring your own. Please – scoop the poop!


How do I get a t-shirt? T-shirts (with a new design!) and dog bandanas are available for purchase during registration, while supplies last. We encourage you to order during registration as we cannot guarantee sizes at the event.

Emergencies and Safety

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will be on-site for the duration of Mutt March. For pet emergencies, we cannot guarantee that a veterinarian will be available to assist and recommend that any pet facing a life-threatening situation leave Mutt March and go directly to an emergency clinic.

There will be a medics tent on-site during the event.
