Help one-of-a-kind pets at the Jacksonville Humane Society this holiday season

Animal welfare organization offers Home for the Holidays adoption special

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (December 1, 2009) – The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) hopes to find homes for some one-of-a-kind pets this holiday season through the “Home for the Holidays” adoption special.

Selected pets are available for adoption for $25. Each adopter gets a free goodie bag and discounts on heartworm prevention and pet carriers.

“We have many great dogs and cats at JHS looking for a home to call their own. Just like people, they want to spend the holidays surrounded by loving family members and friends,” said Leona Sheddan, executive director of the Jacksonville Humane Society. “Through our ‘Home for the Holidays’ special, adopters can save money on the adoption fee, giving them a little extra cash to spoil their new family member with toys and treats.”

Pets selected for adoption through the “Home for the Holidays” special are identified by tags on their kennels or cages and a note in their online profile at
