Silent Night: Give a Pet a Home for the Holidays

Silent Night is our favorite holiday tradition here at JHS; make it one of yours this year and give a pet a temporary home for the holidays!

2020 Silent Night Information

How does it work?

– Stop by the Jacksonville Humane Society or Animal Care and Protective Services between December 17-24, 2020 and choose a pet to take home for a temporary foster for the holidays. Our staff will help you find the right fit for your home. (If possible, please bring a new or gently used collar and leash with you at the time of pick-up. If you plan to take a cat home, you can bring a new or gently used carrier.)
– Your furry guest will stay with you until December 26, 2020, so that they can enjoy the holidays in a home.
– Return your pet on December 26 – or adopt!

Do you live in a home without any pets or children?

Some of our shelter pets prefer a home without other animals or children. If you can provide a home such as this to a shelter pet during the holidays, we’d love your support! If you do not have any animals or kiddos currently living in your home and are interested in fostering, please click here. If you have other pets at home, you are still welcome to participate in Silent Night. This information is simply to help us find a good fit for our pets who have a distinct need.

Is there a cost?

– No – it doesn’t cost anything to participate in Silent Night.

Will you provide food and other supplies?

– Yes, JHS will supply a bag of dog/cat food and cat litter while supplies last. Please try to bring your own leash/collar/carrier.

Are any other shelters participating?

– Yes! Our friends at Animal Care & Protective Services are participating in Silent Night this year. You can stop by their facility between December 17-24 and take home a Silent Night pet.
