The Jacksonville Humane Society Offers Beat the Heat Adoption Special

Discounts to encourage people to adopt animals during the hot summer months

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (August 5, 2010) – The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) is offering discounts up to 100 percent in the “Beat the Heat” adoption promotion.

“When you come to adopt a dog or cat from JHS in August, you will pull a thermometer out of our ‘sun bowl,’” said Leona Sheddan, executive director of the Jacksonville Humane Society. “The temperature on the thermometer will indicate the percent discount you will get off your adoption fee. For example, if you pull a thermometer that says 25 degrees, we will discount your adoption fee by 25 percent.”

The “Beat the Heat” discount does not apply to merchandise. The “Beat the Heat’ adoption special runs through the end of August.
