The Jacksonville Humane Society Unveils “Go Green, Get a Hybrid” T-shirts

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) has gone green to promote the adoption of mixed-breed pets. The animal education and adoption center is now selling organic cotton T-shirts imprinted with the words, “Go Green, Get a Hybrid,” along with a photo of a mixed-breed dog.

“At JHS, we care for a wide variety of adoptable pets including full-breed and mixed-breed animals,” said Leona Sheddan, executive director of JHS. “Mixed-breed pets make great family members. Studies show they are not only healthier than many full-breed animals, but they also exhibit the traits of many different breeds.”

“Lucky is a Labrador Retriever / Shar-Pei mix up for adoption at JHS,” said Karen Padgham, JHS’s director of customer service. “Like a Labrador retriever, Lucky is fun-loving, free-spirited and patient, but she is also loyal, bold and independent like a Shar-Pei.”

The “Go Green, Get a Hybrid” T-shirts feature a picture of a Labrador retriever / German shepherd mix. Small-, medium-, large- and extra-large size “Go Green, Get a Hybrid shirts are $12; extra-extra-large shirts are $15. The shirts are available at JHS’s boutique at 8464 Beach Boulevard in the adoption center.

All proceeds from the sale of “Go Green, Get a Hybrid” T-shirts benefit JHS, a non-profit animal education and adoption center.
