Tickets now on sale for 10th annual Fur Ball

Join the Jacksonville Humane Society for “A Night at the Acropolis”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tickets for the Jacksonville Humane Society’s (JHS) Fur Ball Gala, Jacksonville’s only black-tie event for people and their pets, are now on sale. The fundraiser will take place May 16 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the University of North Florida’s University Center Ballroom. This year’s theme is “A Night at the Acropolis.”

Last year, more than 350 people and 150 pets attended the Fur Ball. JHS encourages attendees to dress creatively, tying the event’s theme into their attire.

“For our 10th annual gala, we are stepping back in time and enjoying an evening in ancient Greece,” said Leona Sheddan, executive director of JHS. “Thanks to our sponsors, David Pepper and Amelia Duddington, we will dine with our furry friends at the Acropolis.”

The Fur Ball Gala will feature live and silent auctions, gourmet hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Miss Daisy’s Delights will offer a pet-treat bar for furry attendees. Pet Butlers will be on hand to take pets on walks, and a time-out area with large and small crates will serve as a spot for animals to rest. JHS will also crown the four-legged king and queen of the ball at the gala.

Tickets are $150 per person, $1,600 for a personal table and $1,900 for a corporate table. Pets are admitted for free with their owners (maximum of two pets per person). Tickets are available online at or by calling 904-725-8766 x230.

All proceeds from the Fur Ball Gala benefit JHS, a non-profit animal education and adoption center.
