Field Trips

Field trips are currently paused until further notice due to COVID-19.

Bring your class or group to JHS and learn about cats, dogs and why generosity breeds joy!

Take a field trip to the Jacksonville Humane Society Adoption, Education and Pet Help Center. Students will enjoy a tour of our campus, have a Q&A with shelter staff and (when possible) interact with a dog or cat.

Field trips are available for students in grades K-12 and granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Two packages are available.

Click here to learn more about our field trip packages and complete a request form.

If your students are working on a particular project or have a special request to have an issue addressed in the Q&A with staff, please complete the “additional information” option on the request form. While we cannot meet all requests, we would love to help bring the lessons learned in your classroom to life at JHS.

Self-Guided Tours

Small groups are welcome to visit our adoption center any time during our open hours (M-F 12-7, Sat-Sun 10-5) and inquire about the self-guided tours at the front desk. You may also download our self-guided tour to review with your small group prior to visiting JHS. Please note that due to COVID-19, field trips and self-guided tours are currently unavailable.

JHS is proud to offer a limited number of field trip scholarships annually thanks to the generous support of the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation. For more information about our Furyk & Friends: Lucky’s Pack scholarships, please email us at
